Iran feature film ‘The Dark Room’ has won big at 2018 IFFK in India.

Iran feature film ‘The Dark Room’ has won big award at the 2018 edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in India.

Directed and produced by Rouhollah Hejazi, the film received the Best Film award from the 23rd edition of the Indian film festival.

The film, that enjoys a social drama genre, narrates the story of a young couple, Haleh and Farhad, and their 5-year-old son, Amir. The small family has recently moved into a new apartment building to start a new chapter of their lives, they cannot imagine what awaits them, though.

Amir is lost in the desert just in front of the complex, however, his parents find him soon. But then, Amir tells his father that someone has abused him and that makes Farhad very upset.

The troubled father is now looking for a suspect who has harassed his little boy.

Sareh Bayat (Haleh) and Saed Soheili (Farhad) are two big names appear among the cast list. Alireza Mirsalehi (Amir) is the child star to play the role of the family’s only child.

‘The Dark Room’ has so far attended several international film events including the 5th edition of Hanoi International Film Festival in Vietnam.

The IFFK, acknowledged as one of the leading cultural events in India, is an annual event held in Thiruvananthapuram (or Trivandrum) in the Indian state of Kerala.

Started in 1996, the festival is launched in November/December every year by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala.

The 23rd edition of the IFFK kicked off on December 7 and wrapped up on December 13, 2018.
